Okay, so last night was one of those -- hate/love to be the mom of THE goalie! The hockey game was the most intense of the season. Viewmont scored 2 goals, it was 2-0. I was so nervous. Then in the second period Kenzie put one in for Sky View it was great. Kenzie is actually a defender, but he took it behind the net and put it in the "back door" unsuspectingly... of course. It was an awesome play. With only like 3 minutes left in the 3rd period we were still down 2-1 and Tanner Gray put one in for Sky View to tie the game. WOW. Whew! BUT... this means if the game ends in a tie they go to a sudden death shoot out - that is when it ALL seems to fall on Tanton's shoulders and I honestly was getting super sick at the thought of it. Well, it happened... SHOOT OUT. Our team had the first chance to score. Tanner Vinson took the puck down to their goalie and had a great shot, but he blocked it. Then Viewmont's best scorer took the puck toward Tanton and.... he Shut him down! Yeah. (deep breath) Then Tanner Gray from our team went for a score and HE SCORED! Hurray. Last shot coming at Tant. If he can block it we win. Okay, no nerves here, right? I was shaking, I was sick.... But HE DID IT ! And I honestly almost cried, I was so happy and proud. The game got over at 11:30 pm. Now tonight we have to go back to Bountiful to play Fremont @ 8:15. GOOD LUCK SKY VIEW! Play hard!
Just a side note: four games were played last night between the North and South divisions and we heard that all four games ended in shoot outs! WOW. Thanks Greg for coming over and staying with Abby....
